Sarah & Will’s Elegant Summer Wedding | Guernsey Wedding Videography
There’s a special kind of quiet that comes with filming bridal prep early in the morning, soft light, hushed voices, the steady rhythm of mascara brushes and curling irons. At Les Buttes, nestled among Guernsey’s green lanes, Sarah was surrounded by calm, warmth, and a group of bridesmaids who knew exactly how to keep the mood light. From the first shot, the atmosphere felt personal. Intentional. Full of love, but never overdone.

Later that morning, I made my way across to Le Haut de la Vallée where Will was getting ready. It’s a beautiful property sitting just above Rocquettes Cider Farm. The energy here was different: a mix of nerves, laughter.
Back with the bridal party A first look with Sarah’s dad and brother that brought real tears (and, yes, I did film through misty eyes). Bridesmaids gasping at the dress reveal like it was the most natural thing in the world to respond to tulle and satin with audible emotion. And Will waiting in the garden, surrounded by guests, as Sarah walked in with the kind of smile that says everything you need to know about how right two people are for each other.

The ceremony was short and sincere. Vows exchanged under the open sky, laughter gently rippling through the garden as if even the flowers were in on the moment. After the confetti exit, joyfully chaotic in the best way, the drinks reception on the lawn began, and the day opened up into celebration mode.
One of my favourite parts of the afternoon was the couple shoot at Rocquettes Cider Farm. It’s a place that already feels cinematic, but with Sarah’s flowing gown and Will’s quiet confidence, every frame just came to life. There’s something about that orchard light, a kind of soft glow that only Guernsey manages to pull off, that made their connection feel even more timeless.

The reception itself was beautifully set beneath a Sperry tent by Bonita Events, styled with thoughtful touches and the kind of floral arrangements that seem to whisper compliments to the breeze. The speeches were a highlight, Sarah’s brother speaking with warmth and humour, Will bringing sincerity and grace, and the best man delivering laughs without ever leaning too far into chaos. I captured each one in full for their film, preserving every pause, every perfectly timed glance, and all the emotions that came with them.
As the evening light mellowed, guests mingled in that effortlessly joyful way that only comes when the heavy lifting of the day is behind you. A tiramisu tower made a surprise entrance (a true crowd-pleaser), followed closely by Sarah and Will’s first dance, backlit by festoon lights and the kind of music that invites everyone in.

Later, just as the sun dipped behind the orchard, we stole a quiet moment for a final portrait session. It was peaceful. No script, no crowd, just two people, now married, letting the day settle around them. That moment will be in their film, right where it belongs: a perfect close to a story that unfolded with heart, humour, and honesty.
Filming Sarah and Will’s wedding wasn’t just about capturing the big moments, it was about catching all the small, quiet ones in between. The glances, the squeezes of a hand, the shared jokes no one else hears. Their day was a masterclass in how to keep things elegant, meaningful, and deeply personal. And from the lens of a wedding filmmaker, it was an absolute joy to document.
