Rosie & Ben’s Wedding at The Fairfield, Guernsey

Rosie and Ben’s wedding at The Fairfield in Guernsey was one of those days where you could tell from the start that everyone was there to have a really good time. Guests had flown in from Canada and all over the world, and the energy was high right from the morning.

The morning prep set the tone straight away. Rosie and her bridesmaids were at Mottram House, singing along to Dolly Parton while getting their hair and makeup done. It wasn’t quiet, and it definitely wasn’t formal, it was a proper party atmosphere before the wedding had even begun. Over at Le Petite Auberge, Ben and the groomsmen were in the same spirit. They played a few games of croquet, shared beers, and had plenty of banter while getting into their suits. It was easygoing, full of laughter, and you could tell they were all genuinely there for each other.

The ceremony at The Fairfield was beautiful and heartfelt. Rosie and Ben’s vows were personal and moving, and you could see how much it meant to them. At the same time, it was far from serious all the way through, the groomsmen pushed wheelbarrows of beer down the aisle, which got a huge reaction from everyone. I’ve filmed a lot of aisle shots, but these were definitely a new take on the term.

Afterwards, the afternoon rolled into lawn games, confetti, and drinks, with everyone just enjoying the sunshine and each other’s company. The marquee looked amazing thanks to Bonita Events and Michele Tiffin’s flowers, full of thoughtful touches without feeling overdone.

The reception entrance might have been my favourite moment of the day: Rosie and Ben came in with champagne spraying everywhere, their friends acting as hype squad, and the whole place erupting. It was pure energy and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Daniel Green’s catering went down brilliantly, and later on, Mims Pizza Truck kept people fuelled for more dancing. Instead of a traditional cake, Rosie and Ben went for Colin the Caterpillars, which got a massive cheer when they cut into them.

The evening party was just as good as the rest of the day. Amelia Garn’s vocals added a lovely touch earlier on, and then La Fox got everyone on the dancefloor and kept them there. It was one of those weddings where the energy never dipped.

For me, it was a real privilege to capture it all. Rosie and Ben built a day that was true to them, heartfelt, fun, and surrounded by the people who matter most. And they definitely made the most of every single moment.
